Ireland, what a beautiful creation, bitter sweet, glory and pain, struggle and joy, hope and sadness, if ever there was a nation that has a sense of the Ying and the Yang , Eire, the ancient old land battered by a million million Atlantic waves sure has had her fair share,,,,,,
This has ben changed. C ya it irelend, snake.
Thank you for all you are absolutely great and Planxty to!!!! ❤ All my time in Co cork coming in return when I hear your music thanks for all ❤ Forever in my heart
This masterpiece by the great Andy Irvine never fails to bring a tear to my eye. It's just beautiful.
In this world of conflict, this is just as apposite today as it was 1969.
Yeah, seen Christy marching with the far far far over the hill left in Dublin recently' supporting the globalist agenda ... just sayin 🤷
Love it👍
Why a guinea? It was always a shilling.
Pure love for this poet
Merry Christmas and happy New Year 2024! 🎄🎁🎅
Still listening and enjoying this classic in Nov. 2023
Barry= Legend
このおじいちゃんの歌声が超いいんだよなあ、、アンディアーヴァイン
Eeeee ba harry, those were the days
Utter class
I was born and raised in England and my mother god bless her soul was from clare and she always said to me I was born in the wrong country and this song always reminds Me she was right x x 💙
Very underrated song....thanks for uploading !
Loved planxty and all the years I will never forget the songs and the brilliance of the instrumentals !
Ironically it holds true to today, we just had our independance 50 odd years after 5 centuries of struggle, and our new leaders in the establishment gave it away to Brussels.
Beautiul song and none other than Liam O' Flynn on the whistle
Beautiful song!!
Beautiful..thank you to my lovely chara who introduced me to some of the lyrical culture denied to me for so long..if you ever see this, you'll know who y'are & I love you for your soul. 💚🕊
He's still the tops. Lovely guy.
Maybe it's time to drop the martyr complex, it's been 100 years now you've been free.
This just shows what you know. For your information 6 counties still remain under UK rule and we will never be free until the crown leaves our shores for good. All the crown has ever done wherever it has gone is take what does not belong to it. If you do not like the video please keep scrolling on by and leave your uneducated comments somewhere else.
Brings back great memories. great stuff fellas, a great sentiment.
Still brilliant after all these years.Christys voice has such feeling.💚
Thank you for being Andy Irvine a true soul of love ( Peacewalker0 wife of Greg )
So beautiful, I can only bow to the courage of the brave patriots who withstood Thatchers hatred in the H-block
This is the most poignant song for the Northern Iriih 69-01. We're all brothers!!!!
Not from Clare but my God I miss home
I have the vinyl!
Listening with nostalgia and such love. Also such sadness. What a piper we lost when we lost Liam.
I Love it. These Lads Made my Day today. Tears in my Eyes
My heart is in Ireland ALL THE TIME!
The first Planxty album is one of the greatest albums of all time
Indeed it is, a masterpiece.
Absolutely brilliant.
when will our land be free? Everyone now living as slaves. Who would have thought.
I used to go to the Wexford inn to listen to this man on a Friday night. I’m from Belfast
Yet another version!
The paul brady version is genius in its adaptation.
Paul did a really lovely version, but for sheer joy , I do prefer Andy's !
I have seen Andy play in AUSTRALIAN many times and always enjoyed his music. Also drank a few pints in Miltown Malbay pub in 1978.
NYPD officer Timothy Bergin loved this who just passed away.....for any thumbs down or negatively on this on my sons heart I will hunt you down and gut you....RIP BEAR
A freeman's icon, no matter your race or creed. Such beauty in music I wonder if we will ever hear again.
I hope brother
Living in a Ulster This song means so much
Living in Scotland and wanting Independence I feel this song was written for both Ireland and Scotland but people around the world feel that its for them too so that is what makes this song Universal :) Alba gu brath
@@Trancemaniacism1 Irish resistance is an inspiration to ALL oppressed peoples.
It is our destiny.
I chose culture . Not collectivism
I loved Planxty. Many a night singing to them xx
I was about 19 or 20 when I first heard this. Never forgot!!
A song for our times 2020
Mega Good stuff.
I spent my first Christmas away from home in China, listening to this crying my eyes out. Now I listen to it and cry out of nostalgia for my early 20s, and the time I spent in China. It's funny how the significance of things changes over time.
no need to cry pal..just enjoy it all
